You can’t help but admire this small and characteristic village, which has been skillfully restored with a lot of heart and soul and includes 19 apartments, a vegetarian restaurant, a large wood-burning oven, a chapel, a small store where you can buy typical products and everyday necessities and a large pool with shower and sun loungers. A rustic Tuscan garden has been laid out around the houses of the Borgo, decorated with typical herbs of the Mediterranean maquis and enveloping its surroundings with wonderful scents.
Perhaps what makes this Borgo so unique is the love with which it has been brought back to life. During the renovation of the buildings and outdoor facilities, the original forms were respected and, where changes had to be made, the traditional building elements and materials were taken into account. On the first floor of the various buildings, the ceilings often consist of the original “Volterrane”, which have only been skillfully reconstructed in a few places. The plaster of the buildings is rustic and alternates with original stone and brick walls.
Borgo Tignano is animated by a sincere spirit of hospitality that reaches the heart of every person, making you feel like a guest and not a tourist.
